Recording

Go to the Record section of Recordifier.  Touch the green Record button to begin a recording.  A file, named with the current date and time, will be created to hold the audio from a single recording session.

To pause recording, touch the round Pause button located just to the right of the Record button.  Touch it again to resume recording.

To stop recording, touch the red Stop button.  The new recording will appear in the list.  The list of recordings is always sorted by recording date and time, with the newest file at the top.

After the new recording is placed in the list, Recordifier will automatically navigate to the Info panel for the recording so that the name can be edited, notes can be added, or the recording can be played.  Information about the file is presented there as well.

New recordings cannot be appended to existing recording files.

When Your Recording Must Not Be Interrupted

The iPhone OS always gives priority to the phone and certain alarms and alerts, so an incoming call or text message, or a calendar alert  could cause your recording to be interrupted.  When these interruptions occur, Recordifier will pause recording and then restart it after the interruption has passed, but some data will be lost.

In some cases, you may want to ensure that this does not happen.  To guarantee an uninterrupted recording, you should deliberately silence your iPhone by taking the following steps:

1.In the Settings application, ensure that the iPhone has Airplane Mode turned on.

2.In the Calendar application, ensure that there are no event alarms enabled during the planned recording period.

3.In the Clock application, ensure that there are no clock alarms enabled during the planned recording period.

4.Do not move the Ringer/Silent switch during the recording. When changing Ringer/Silent mode, an iPhone may vibrate, depending on user settings.

5.Lastly, do not plug the iPhone into a power source during the recording. When an iPhone gets plugged into power, it beeps twice or vibrates, according to user settings.

Playback

To play a recording, select the file by touching the list over its name.  Recordifier will display the info panel for the recording.  Touch the Play button to play the recording.  Touch the Pause button to pause it.  When the recording has finished playing it will automatically be re-queued so that it can be played again.

Touching the Recordifier (back) button will navigate back to the list of recordings and the current recording will cease playback.

File management

To rename a file or add notes about the recordings, select the file by touching the list over its name.  Recordifier will display the Info panel for the recording.   Touch the title field to edit the name; touch the notes field to add comments about the recording.

To delete a recording, select the file by touching the list over its name.  Recordifier will display the info panel for the recording.  Touch the Delete button.
