| Red Rock DeltaGraph Automator FAQ - Last Updated 7/11/2005 Q: What does the DeltaGraph Automator Action, “DGPlot” do? A: The DeltaGraph Automator Action, “DGPlot” allows you to create images (PDF, EPSF, JPG, etc) of any DeltaGraph Chart using the Automator Technology in Mac OS X, v.10.4. “Tiger”. For more information on Automator see http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/automator Q: Do I need to own the DeltaGraph Software to run the DeltaGraph Automator Action? A: Yes. The DGPlot action uses the DeltaGraph Software to create the chart images. Q: What types of DeltaGraph chart images can I make with the DGPlot? A: You can make any DeltaGraph chart including those chart templates you have saved in your custom libraries. DeltaGraph can make 84 different 2-D and 3-D chart types. Q: How do I use my data with the DGplot action? A: Your data must be in text files (one per chart image to be created). You must use the Finder Automator Action, “Get Selected Items”, or “Ask for Finder Items”. For more information please see DeltaGraph Automator Workflow 1 and Workflow 2. Q: How do I create an image type other than PDF or EPSF using DGPlot? A: Use the Preveiw Automator Action, “Change Type of Images”. A: The DeltaGraph Automator Action was released as a FREE “Technology Preview” on July 11, 2005. Pricing will be made available at the time of a final release. A: Make sure you have DeltaGraph 5.5.1 or later installed. Q: Can DGPlot be used with earlier versions of Mac OS X? A: No, DGPlot can only be used with Automator which requires Mac OS X, v.10.4, “Tiger”. However, you can use AppleScript to automate chart image generation with earlier versions of Mac OS X and Mac OS 9, please see Chapter 18 of the DeltaGraph User’s Guide, “AppleScript Commands”.
