Who uses DeltaGraph?
Scientists and Researchers who need linear and non-linear regression tools for data analysis; the ability to print poster-sized charts for conferences; who collaborate with colleagues using charts and most importantly, who need to submit professional-quality charts for publication.

Businesses, small and large who need to visualize their data for better presentation and analysis; who provide sales reports, weekly and monthly inventory reports, quarterly and annual business reports – all of which may require unique chart types. DeltaGraph has the chart variety to address just about any business and technical need.

Graphic Designers who work with technical information and need the ability to create eye- catching charts without much manipulation and who need quality images to use in programs like Illustrator and QuarkXpress for brochures, pamphlets and technical books. DeltaGraph allows designers to export their charts in a variety of resolutions (up to 300 dpi DeltaGraph 5.4 Windows) and in a variety of formats to fit their specific needs.

Appendix B – Customization Capabilities
  1. Set Export Resolution – This is important for users who would like to use their charts in a variety of media. DeltaGraph 5.4 Windows exports up to 300 dpi, DeltaGraph 5.5 Mac up to 1200 dpi.
  2. PANTONE™ Color Matching - Corporations invest significant money in logos and colors that uniquely represent their image to the world. Red Rock Software has licensed PANTONE™ color matching to give corporations the features they need to make sure their print design meets their standards.
  3. Create a Custom Layout -DeltaGraph ships with several common layout formats for your charts including; Title and Chart; Title, Bullet Text and Chart; Title and Two Charts, etc. But you also have the power to create your own layout to fit your needs. Put the “Title” box where you like, add a graphic box for an image or put four charts on a page, it is your choice in DeltaGraph.
  4. Create a Custom Template - For anyone who has repetitive experiments or reports to create involving charts this is a hug time saver. Users can create templates once with the proper text, axis, colors, etc., then save customizations as a template to use with new data in next month’s report. Users simply need to drag and drop templates on the new data set to apply all the customizations saved in a template.
  5. Create a Custom Background – Images may be imported in DeltaGraph for use as a background for a chart or graph. These backgrounds add interest to any presentation or print out. Users may also import images to use in DeltaGraph’s “Pictograph” chart, where an image represents the data rather than a standard column or bar.
  6. Rulers & Grids -- The ability to size a chart using a variety of measurements is important for users who are submitting work for publication in a variety of print media. DeltaGraph provides rulers in Inches, Centimeters, Points, Picas and Ciceros.
Appendix C – Non-Linear Regression

Regression analysis, made possible by user defined curve fits in DeltGraph®, offers a tremendous amount of freedom in modeling the range of possible results derived from data analysis. A "Linear" curve fit uses only addition and multiplication and takes two parameters a and b. The results derived from such linear curve fittings may be viewed as less accurate. To better model a more predictable outcome of data sets, non-liner regression or user-defined curve fits are used. DeltaGraph’s user-defined curve fits allows users to create a more robust model by allowing any of the operators, any of the functions (with a few restrictions on the arguments for some functions), and any number of parameters (including variable raised to powers, log, sine, etc).
